Owning a fuel efficient vehicle has become of greater importance in today's world, where gas has become a documented expense, as opposed to a spur of the moment purchase. Instead of being one of the minor factors considered when buying a car, fuel economy is now one of the top aspects looked at. Currently, highly fuel efficient vehicles are more expensive than their lesser counterparts, so it may take years to see a net profit from the savings on fuel.
Some people are willing to pay the extra money because they are conscious of the environment and want to consume less fuel, as it is beneficial to the planet, and others are negatively affected psychologically by seeing such high numbers at the pump. One who is environmentally and fuel conscious has a multitude of vehicle options to choose from, as there is no shortage of efficient cars in our society.
Kia offers several fuel efficient vehicles that are not lacking in other features. The 2008 Kia Rio is safe, sporty, and comes standard at $11,540. There is plenty of room, a powerful engine, and a reputable Powertrain Warranty. Best of all, the highway fuel economy is rated at 35mpg. The base model can be upgraded to LX and SX for only a few thousand dollars more, although upgrades do not effect fuel economy.
Mazda is not known for focusing on fuel economy, although a few of their vehicles are prominent in this respect. The Mazda3 4-Door has 148HP, multi-port electronic fuel injection, and a heap of sophisticated external features. Manual transmission yields higher fuel efficiency than automatic, with 32 highway miles per gallon compared to 30, respectively. Interesting, the higher priced Mazda vehicles have much lower efficiency than the cheaper ones. For example, as the Mazda3 is continually upgraded (there are five unique models of it), the economy gets proportionally lower.
Like Mazda, Mitsubishi is more popular for its innovative designs and impressive features than efficiency. Despite this, many of Mitsubishi's newer models take in to account the general population's desire for efficient vehicles. The 2009 Lancer is a perfect case of this. Its aerodynamic design makes it move easier, and it has many features that are more likely to be found on a jet than a car.
In fact, it has many futuristic characteristics that make it a pleasure to own. A keyless entry system enables drivers to open doors and start the ignition without actually needing to insert a key, and advanced navigation and Bluetooth technology complement the other attributes seamlessly maxidas ds808. With all this, the Lancer still manages to get 30 highway miles per gallon Autel MaxiSys Pro, and a respectable 22 in city.
The company that is most notably leading the way in fuel efficiency is Chevy. Fuel solutions are one of their top priorities, next to safety, and they are pioneering the way towards a gas-free future. The Concept Chevy Volt, which has not entered the market yet, is one of the most promising electric vehicles ever designed. Chevrolet has dedicated extensive resources to perfecting the vehicle, and it is expected to have a driving range of 640 miles before needing to be recharged.
In addition to electricity, Chevrolet sees biofuels as an ideal alternative to petroleum, specifically E85 ethanol, which is made mostly from corn. Several vehicles even have the ability to run solely on ethanol, and if that fuel is not available, regular gasoline can be used as an alternative.

Besides the standard motorbike insurance types that are called 'comprehensive', 'third party' and 'third party + fire+theft,' you may also get insurance coverage either for the driver of the bike alone or for the motorbike alone.
Insuring the bike rider with a separate motorbike insurance
As you may have already intuited, insurance that covers the driver of the motorbike separately is answerable for personal injury, loss or fatality whenever he is driving any motorbike at all. This is much unlike the usual motorbike insurance policies which are liable only if the driver is riding on the insured vehicle. This type of insurance is a more comprehensive way of protecting the person himself launch x431 v+.
Instead of purchasing a policy that covers the rider on a situational basis, driver specific motorbike insurance policies are effective whenever that person is on the road Launch CReader 7001. This is especially recommendable for people who make claims against their policies upwards of 4 times a year. Whosoever's bike he is riding, he is covered. That fact also makes this type of motorbike insurance policy conducive for people who frequently go on trips abroad, and who rent motorcycles in the place they are touring.
Insuring the motorbike on its own
On the opposite end, there are motorbike insurance policies which are attached to or 'owned by' the bike itself. In this case, whenever the bike is in use, it is covered - not necessarily the person riding it. There are a number of ways that this type of coverage can be useful. The first is if you are running a motorbike rental outfit. Secondly, if the unit you have at home is used by nearly all the boys - and then some - in the family.
There is another scenario where a motorbike insurance plan that is made for the bike is recommendable. And that is if you happened to have an Icon Sheen or a Dodge Tomahawk Superbike. These models cost upwards of $200,000. Insuring these machines separately will be a must considering the cost that could be incurred for repairing or replacing the vehicle.
For the complete safety of rider and motorbike
Insuring both rider and motorbike separately is the best way to make sure they are always covered by funding; in the driver's case, whosoever's bike he is riding; in the motorbike's case, whoever is driving it.
The specific details of these types of motorbike insurance may differ from company to company. If you are interested in the practicality of this scheme, you should drop in at a motorbike insurance website to make initial inquiries.
As a manufacturer with a philosophy that advocates advancement through technology, Audi are showcasing some of their finest technical innovations with the new A4.
Of course for most car buyers the issues of price and whether we actually need such techno wizardry are often called to the fore when it comes to Audi. Particularly when models start to filer their way through into the used car markets once the original owner has upgraded.
In short, the technical innovation offered by Audi does not come cheap - and if you're a techno-geek then you'll find this brand is second to none. The down side is that while Audi produces cars that many people dream of owning, only a select few can actually afford to maintain them in the event that those highly technical bits and bobs need repairing after the original warranty expires.
For those who can afford to buy new and desire nothing less than the latest and greatest driving technology which Audi has become so famous for, the new A4 may be at the top of your wish list.
While this A4 certainly looks similar to its previous model, it has also been designed to create a racier, sportier stance of automotive prowess by reducing the front overhang and increasing the bonnet length.
Stretching the wheel base has accommodated greater occupant room, the rear legroom has been improved slightly, and there's a 480 litre boot to store golf clubs for the lads and screeds of shopping bags from the high street for the ladies.
While offering greater boot room than any of its competitors, the A4 also features impressive technology in its unyielding body structure, introducing high strength steel in essential body structures, as well as weight saving features to give the advantages of a better power to weight ratio and decreased fuel consumption.
Also assisting in fuel consumption is a drag coefficient of just 0.27, which basically means the Audi slips through the air with ease, resulting in fuel savings and decreasing wind noise.
Four direct fuel injected engines are available, covering a power-output range up to 195 kW. Two of the engines (2.0 litre in-line 4cyl & 2.7litre V6) use common-rail diesel technology and both are turbo charged, and of the two petrol power units available the 1.8 litre in-line 4 cylinder is turbocharged with electronic intake camshaft adjustment. The 3.2 litre V6 is the only normally aspirated engine available.
Impressively, the new A4 offers an average fuel saving of 13 percent over the previous model for the petrol models, while the diesels achieve a reduction of 6 percent. Audi's version of the Constant Variable Transmission (CVT) called Multitronic is used on the 1 OBD Tool.8 litre turbo, and both diesels and can cleverly imitate eight gear change patterns while a super smooth six-speed tiptronic auto is used on the 3.2 litre quattro permanent four wheel drive model.
Apart from the quattro, where the torque split is 40:60, drive all models comes via the front wheels. As the result of some genuine engineering skill and with no cost spared, the differential has been moved even further forward in the driveline from the previous model by swapping its position with the clutch or torque convertor. This has enabled the front axle to be repositioned further forward allowing for the axle loads to be ideally balanced.
To even further fuel Audi drivers' fascinations for gadgetry and innovative driving technology, two more options are also on offer.
Best suited to drivers who really understand which settings will best suit their continually changing driving conditions is the Audi drive select control system. This allows the driver to adjust the operating characteristics of the engine, automatic transmission, steering and adaptive suspension damping to suit their individual preferences or driving conditions with little more than the push of a button.
Interestingly, while that system was designed to allow the driver to change the handling characteristics of the vehicle, built-in safety margins ensure the car is never allowed to step outside of certain parameters.
The second optional package is Audi dynamic steering, which varies the steering ratio according to road speed. At slower speeds full lock will be reached with less than one turn of the steering wheel, while at higher speeds the steering becomes much less sensitive.
This stability control system can even automatically override the driver's intended steering wheel angle when the vehicle is close to its handling limits, while the driver remains entirely unaware of the change in steering angle.
All A4 models come standard with electronic stability and traction control, six airbags including a front passenger airbag key deactivation system, auto headlights, rain sensing wipers, fog lights, rear parking aids, cruise control, leather multifunction steering wheel, trip computer and a split folding rear seat.
Prices range from $67,900 for the petrol 1 Launch CReader 6011.8T FSI and $68,900 for the 2.0 TDI right through to $78,900 for the 2.7 TDI.
The remarkable technology employed in all aspects of the Audi A4's design makes it an awe-inspiring ride for lucky drivers who can afford to buy new. A few years down the road could see this model, like most Audi's, being a very expensive car to repair should any of the techno logy go awry. But then what European car featuring this kind of technological prowess isn't?

As big oil companies continue to grow bigger, foreigners are the ones who get most of the money. If you own a lot of oil stock you may be happy, but the rest of us can only grumble when we see prices jump higher at the pump. The gas station is the easiest way to see how the rising cost of oil affects us, but there are many hidden costs, too.
Much of the world抯 oil now comes from the middle east. We are able to see on a daily basis the price of being dependent on another part of the world for the energy we have come to rely upon. The wars in that region may not be for oil specifically, but if there was no oil, there would be considerably less money to make war. Most of the oil money goes to a few people who are in control. The majority of the people in the oil rich countries remain poverty-stricken and greatly resent the way the cash flow does not improve their lives.
For every dollar we spend on gasoline or oil, a significant portion goes to companies paying taxes in foreign countries. In much the same way that it hurts our country to lose jobs to foreign corporations, our economy suffers greatly when we buy foreign oil.
The U.S. population consumes an incredible amount of energy. For most of us, mobility is necessary to live our daily lives. We drive to work each day; chauffer our children from place to place, and rely heavily upon rental and company cars for business travel. In a more perfect world, mass transit or bicycles would be much better, but with frequently changing jobs, nomadic lifestyles and hectic schedules, these options are hardly practical.
Many people complain about the price of gas, the war and the terrorists who are funded by oil money. Instead of enabling the situation, let's make some changes for the better.
Now is our chance to make a difference for our country and the future of our economy. How can you help? Exercise your American buying power!
Boosting the fuel economy of our vehicles can dramatically reduce foreign oil consumption. We don抰 have to be as dependant on foreign oil as we might think. Just lessening our oil and fuel usage even a small amount will help. Buying products made in the USA can reduce our dependence and keep the money and jobs in our country.

You might have such experience: to have a car maintenance, be told of the need to do a lot of maintenance, replacement of a lot of parts, not cheap. As for this money is worth, whether there is a need to do, the owner himself is often baffled. In fact, if you read the car manual, have the correct driving style, and know that some of the car maintenance, common sense, can even yourself have some simple maintenance, you can save a lot of silver in the whole car ownership in the link.
The content of the convention maintains car actually is not much, mainly oil changes and the oil filter, this is the most important content of maintenance. Most of Japanese car have maintenance every 5000 kilometers, German car and French system generally have car serviced every 15000 km Autel Maxidas DS808. I think, to urban driving, every 15000 km to have a maintenance is OK. It is not necessary to reduce maintenance mileage.
I give you the advice is that having regularly check the oil stock habits, such as every 1000 or 2000 km a second look. Find the oil loss, then to add some to it by yourself. No need to change the oil. Car maintenance, in addition to need to be replaced periodically content, machine oil filter, besides the air filter, fuel filter, gear oil, spark plug, belts. These things change mileage or specific time, in your car manual all has very clear illustration. In fact, as the owner, just comply with the content of the executive. Neither delays maintenance, nor have necessity excessive maintenance. Some 4 S shops for earnings of consideration, recommends that customers frequent maintenance. For the car, it's nothing bad, but the owners have to spend a lot of money.
In addition, the car brake pads and manual clutch, batteries and tires, also are need to change. However, these a few things didn't have the change of the specific time. Because each person drive technology and every car driving trafficis are different, these things have the different wear degree, too. The last question is cleaning throttle and carbon. If often in prosperous road driving, due to the low speed, engine cylinder internal and throttle, there must be a carbon produce. When there's carbon, it can cause the engine to bad, such as start difficulties, low speed speed instability, trembling, easy to destroy car etc. Appearing this kind of circumstance, cleaning is required. Among them, cleaning throttle is very simple, just open intake pipe to spray the carburetor detergent. But cleaning the internal cylinder carbon is more troublesome, and the price is not low. So, I suggest you that if Monday to Friday the car use very slow speed to work, Saturday and Sunday you best can go to the country with high speed. It can effectively reduce the carbon production speed. In addition, the manual block of car had better not to low rotation speed shift, added the speed to at least 3000 turn to shift, which is not only fuel-efficient launch x431 pro mini, still can delay the formation of carbon.
Say so, learn some good driving style, can significantly reduce the cost of maintenance, which can save a lot of money.

Summertime is travel time. Even with gasoline prices at an all-time high, Americans can't resist the lure of sunny skies and the open road. According to a survey by triple A, 31.7 million Americans planned to travel by car over Memorial Day weekend 2008, despite gas prices that are an average of $.60 more per gallon over the previous year. Before hitting the road this summer, you can take several simple precautions to keep your family safe and save money at the pump. Extreme heat and long drives can be tough on cars. Cracked hoses, leaky radiators, underinflated tires and dirty filters can significantly lower your fuel efficiency, or worse, lead to a total breakdown.
1. Tires are one of the most overlooked parts of a car. According the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), only one out of 10 drivers checks his or her tire pressure correctly, compared with almost seven out of 10 who wash their cars regularly [source: RMA]. But the truth is that an under-inflated, over-inflated, worn down or misaligned tire can be extremely dangerous, particularly in hot summer weather.
Tire pressure changes with the rising temperatures -- approximately one to two PSI (pounds per square inch) for every 10-degree increase in outside air temperature [source: RMA]. Consult your owner's manual or the sidewall of your tire to see what your tire pressure should be and check it with a hand pressure gauge or just let the guys at the service shop do it for you.
An under-inflated tire bulges outward and puts undo pressure on the sidewalls of the tire. With enough heat and pressure, that tire eventually will blow. An over-inflated tire, on the other hand, makes less contact with the road and can lead to hydroplaning in wet conditions.
Use the penny trick to see if you still have enough tread on your tires. Stick a penny in the tread, and if Lincoln's head disappears, you're good [source: CBS News]. Your local service shop or specialty tire store can also check your tires for proper alignment and balance.
And don't forget about your spare! There's no point in having a spare tire if your spare is in worse condition than the rest. Make sure the spare is properly inflated and has ample tread depth.
Maybe by now the summer heat is making you thirsty. Your car could use a drink, too.
2. Oil is the lifeblood of your car. It keeps hardworking engine parts running clean, smooth and cool. Most owner's manuals suggest that you change your oil and oil filter every 7,500 miles (12,070 kilometers). Oil change specialists suggest every 3,000 miles (4,828 kilometers) or three months. The fact is, most of us do a lot of heavy driving during the summer when an engine is more likely to overheat. So at least check your oil before you head out on that road trip with the family.
To check your oil, let your car run for a few minutes, then park it on a level surface and shut off the engine. Open the hood and locate the oil dipstick. You're looking for two things here: the level of oil and how the oil looks [source: CBS News]. If you're low on oil, you can either add another quart or simply change the oil completely. The oil should look brownish yellow and clean on the stick. If the oil is a dark color or there's a lot of dirt and grime in it, then you definitely need an oil change and oil filter replacement.
Wait, didn't you do a lot of these things when you got your car ready for colder weather? As a matter of fact Car Diagnostic Tool, yes. On the next page, we'll look at some winter maintenance you should undo for summer.
3. If you loyally followed our Top 10 Car Winterizing Tips OBD Tool, then there are several things you need to do to "un-winterize" your car for the summer weather. First of all, get rid of those snow tires. Snow tires are heavy and will lower your fuel economy.
If you haven't driven your car very much during the winter, or if you've had it in storage, then you need to check all of the fluid levels -- coolant, transmission, differential, power steering and brake fluid -- to make sure there weren't any leaks. You'll also want to change the oil, since oil gets thick and collects condensation if it sits in the engine all winter. If you haven't used your battery in a while, you might need a recharge or a replacement.
It's also important to really clean the undercarriage of the car after a long winter, especially if you live in a snowy climate. The salt that's used to melt snow and ice on roads can get caked on the underside of your car and begin to eat away at the metal. Lots of caked-on gunk will also make your engine and transmission run hotter, because heat has a harder time escaping through the bottom of the car.
You can clean the undercarriage yourself using a plain water hose or high-pressure cleaning system. Many professional car washes and detailing services can also perform a high-pressure steam clean for really nasty build-up.
On the next page, we'll look at some other parts of your engine you might've overlooked -- hoses and belts.
Skoda cars have an excellent reputation for producing quality cars at a fair price. In Ireland Skodas are a very popular car for business users and family drivers alike.
Gone are the days of the Skoda jokes, where Skoda was classed with Lada and Polski Fiat. Skoda is now part of the Volkswagen group and the cars are well designed and look great.
There are only three basic models, Fabia, Octavia and Superb.
The models have been designed to fit in between the conventional size classes, for example the Fabia is between a Fiesta and a Focus in size. The engines are quiet, but provide all the power that 99% of motorists ever need. Inside the cars are spacious and comfortable, with a high driver satisfaction rating.
The diesel engined Skoda Octavia has brilliant fuel economy at around 700 miles/1100 kilometres a tank full and it's still a decent performer too.
Rear legroom isn't brilliant, compensation for a big boot, but plenty big enough for a family and occasional adults
As for handling the Skoda Octavia beats the equivalent Volkswagens due to it's stiffer and better ride that's needed for rough Czech (and Irish)roads compared to the smooth German ones of Volkswagen.
Comfortable on long distances, but the road noise level is noticeable.
The Skoda Octavia Estate car just goes on and on. The loading platform seems endless. This estate car is also one of the most pleasant to drive that I have ever come across
The New Octavia car is even better value than the older model. The differences on the outside are subtle, but inside is different story, with redesigned seats and instrument panel. You know you are in a different Skoda Octavia.
The Skoda Fabia is quiet at all speeds. Great steering, brakes, and taut body control. Amazingly frugal engine keeps getting better as it matures Launch CReader 8011, averaging over 65mpg on daily country commutes. Beautiful Skoda gearbox with very smooth changes Autel Maxidas DS808.
Skoda's super efficient air-con does not affect the Fabia's performance or fuel consumption. Heated seats are perfect for winter. Rock solid construction enhances passenger safety.
I think that the skoda diesel engine is the perfect partner for this car as the fuel economy even in town is in the high 50's and the torque is amazing in this small car making it seriously quick, surprising a few Fiesta and Corsa drivers!
The Skoda Fabia is a real Pocket Rocket! The steering is brilliant - very light when you need it in parking spaces, but it weight's up nicely when out on the open road.
The Skoda Fabia estate is an amazing package of space and economy. The 1.2 16v engine delivers far more power than any small estate car driver has the right to expect
Seats appear to be too uncomfortable at the start as they are very hard, but they soften up and become very comfortable after 10 minutes and you appreciate this in a long drive and it is far better than it's rivals!
The ride is wonderful! Very supple for long distance cruising and a great handler. Amazing!
Loaded with kit for the money and you'll save money with it's excellent fuel economy.
Nowhere else will you find a value for money car like the Skoda Superb. The Superb has features that are generally only found in cars costing half as much again. A test drive in the Skoda Superb is a totally different world from a test drive in the very competent Skoda Octavia. The two cars may look very similar outside, but inside and for driving pleasure the Superb wins hands down.
The Skoda Superb really does live up to its name. It is superb in every way - good handling, excellent drive, full of features such as tip-tronic transmission and electric seat c/w memory, spacious cabin, comfortable ride and powerful engine (turbo). The boot is cavernous!
Its actual rear leg-room is even larger than a Mercedes E class.
The top of the range Skoda Superb is a very high quality, well put together and extremely spacious, luxury family car.
Great engine, smooth auto gearbox, wonderful overtaking ability, relaxed cruising and very economical.
Coupled with great features and reasonable price, the Skoda Superb really is value-for-money. It's money well spent!
